ROBIT’S PROFITABILITY IMPROVED SIGNIFICANTLY

Robit achieved record net sales in the third quarter, which was the tenth in a row where Robit grew on the corresponding period. Also, the company’s profitability improved significantly.

Robit’s net sales for the third quarter of the year totalled EUR 26.4 million (24.2). There was an increase of 8.9 percent compared to the corresponding period and an increase of 5.9 percent in constant currencies. Simultaneously, the EBITDA profitability improved by 51.0 percent to EUR 2.5 million (1.7). Orders received totalled EUR 25.6 million. There was an increase of 4.6 percent compared to the corresponding period.

The company’s net sales in January–September grew by 9.6 percent from the corresponding period and totalled EUR 74.5 million (67.9). In constant currencies, the change was 7.2 percent. The EBITDA profitability improved to EUR 5.9 million in January–September (3.1).

The Top Hammer business grew by 15.1 percent supported in particular by the new mining customers during the first nine months. Simultaneously, Down-the-Hole business grew by 3.7 percent steadily in all customer segments.

Geographically, the company’s growth was especially driven by the Americas and EMEA market areas in January–September, while Asia and East market areas were left behind the corresponding period.

Tommi Lehtonen, the company’s CEO is content with Robit’s positive development and expects the market to continue actively.

The company also updated its financial guidance as follows: Robit expects the market situation to remain on a good level in the end of the year. The company estimates that net sales for 2021 will grow and comparable EBITDA profitability in euros will improve as follows: net sales being between EUR 97.0–101.0 million and comparable EBITDA profitability being at least EUR 7.0 million, assuming that exchange rates remain on the level of September 2021.

ROBITIN KANNATTAVUUS PARANI MERKITTÄVÄSTI

Robit saavutti ennätysliikevaihdon kolmannella vuosineljänneksellä, joka oli jo kymmenes peräkkäinen vuosineljännes, jolloin Robit kasvoi vertailukauteen nähden. Myös yhtiön kannattavuus parani merkittävästi.

Robitin liikevaihto oli vuoden kolmannella neljänneksellä 26,4 miljoonaa euroa (24,2). Kasvua vertailukauteen oli 8,9 prosenttia. Vertailukelpoisin valuutoin muutos oli 5,9 prosenttia. EBITDA-kannattavuus parani samanaikaisesti 51,0 prosenttia ollen 2,5 miljoonaa euroa (1,7). Yhtiön tilauskertymä kasvoi 4,6 prosenttia vertailukauteen nähden ollen 25,6 miljoonaa euroa.

Tammi-syyskuussa yhtiön liikevaihto kasvoi 9,6 prosenttia vertailukauteen nähden ja oli 74,5 miljoonaa euroa (67,9). Vertailukelpoisin valuutoin muutos oli 7,2 prosenttia. EBITDA-kannattavuus parani tammi-syyskuussa ollen 5,9 miljoonaa euroa (3,1).

Top Hammer -liiketoiminnan 15,1 prosentin kasvua tukivat erityisesti uudet voitetut kaivosasiakkuudet yhdeksän ensimmäisen kuukauden aikana. Down-the-Hole-segmentissä vastaava kasvu (3,7 prosenttia) oli tasaista kaikissa asiakassegmenteissä.

Maantieteellisesti tammi-syyskuussa yhtiön kasvu tuli erityisesti Americas- ja EMEA-alueista. Asia- ja East-alueet jäivät vertailukaudesta.

Yhtiön toimitusjohtaja, Tommi Lehtonen on tyytyväinen yhtiön positiiviseen kehitykseen ja odottaa markkinan jatkuvan aktiivisena.

Yhtiö päivitti myös ohjeistustaan seuraavasti: Robit arvioi markkinatilanteen säilyvän hyvällä tasolla loppuvuoden ajan. Yhtiö arvioi liikevaihdon kasvavan ja vertailukelpoisen kannattavuuden parantuvan vuonna 2021 seuraavasti: liikevaihdon olevan välillä 97,0–101,0 miljoonaa euroa ja vertailukelpoisen EBITDA:n olevan vähintään 7,0 miljoonaa euroa, olettaen, että valuuttakurssit pysyvät syyskuun 2021 tasolla.

ROBIT INVESTS IN TOP HAMMER PRODUCTION CAPACITY IN FINLAND AND SOUTH KOREA

Due to the rapid growth, Robit invests approximately MEUR 6.0 in increasing its Top Hammer production capacity in Finland and South Korea. In the second quarter of the year 2021, net sales of Top Hammer business grew by 22.0 percent compared to the corresponding period.

The expansion of Robit’s production floor in Lempäälä, Finland, will add approximately 750 square meters of floor space. The former storage space will be reserved for the production of Down the Hole and Geotechnical products, while a new storage space of approximately 650 square meters will be built to replace the former one. Also, as a result of the expansion, Top Hammer and Down the Hole production will be divided into separate production units. The expansion includes also investments in machine tools and automatization. The investments of South Korea’s Hwaseong unit concern machinery investments as well as robotics and automatization. These investments ensure deliveries to meet the demand as well as enable competitive complete deliveries for Top Hammer products produced in Finland. The new production areas in Lempäälä reach their full capacity by the end of 2021. In South Korea, the full capacity is reached early 2022.

Robit’s Top Hammer investments enable capacity increase in the production’s essential points, which have turned into a bottleneck of the production due to the increased sales. The investments enable a significant increase in overall delivery ability and growth.

With these investments, Robit ensures improved service levels to meet the growing demand from the company’s distributors and end customers.

ROBIT INVESTOI TOP HAMMER -TUOTANTOKAPASITEETIN NOSTOON SUOMESSA JA ETELÄ-KOREASSA

Robit investoi nopean kasvun seurauksena noin 6,0 miljoonaa euroa Top Hammer -tuotantokapasiteetin nostoon Suomessa ja Etelä-Koreassa. Top Hammer -tuotteiden kasvu oli 22,0 prosenttia vertailukauteen verrattuna vuoden 2021 toisella vuosineljänneksellä.

Robitin Lempäälän tuotantotilat laajenevat noin 750 neliömetrillä. Down the Hole- ja Geotechnical-tuotteille tehdään oma tuotantohalli aiemmasta varastotilasta ja samalla tehdään uusi korvaava varastotila, noin 650 neliömetriä. Myös Top Hammer – ja Down the Hole -tuotanto jaetaan laajennuksen seurauksena erillisiksi tuotantoyksiköikseen. Laajennukseen sisältyy samalla laite- ja automaatioinvestointeja. Etelä-Korean Hwaseongin toimipisteeseen tehtävät investoinnit koskevat koneinvestointeja sekä robotiikkaa ja automaatiota. Nämä varmistavat kysyntää vastaavan toimituskyvyn sekä mahdollistavat Suomessa tuotettavien Top Hammer -tuotteiden kilpailukyvyn pakettitoimituksissa. Uudet tuotantotilat Lempäälässä saavuttavat täyden tuotantokapasiteettinsa vuoden 2021 loppuun mennessä. Etelä-Koreassa täysi tuotantokapasiteetti saavutetaan alkuvuonna 2022.

Robitin Top Hammer -investoinnit mahdollistavat kapasiteetin lisäyksen tuotannon ydinkohdissa, jotka ovat muodostuneet tuotannon pullonkaulaksi kasvaneen myynnin johdosta. Investoinnit mahdollistavat merkittävän lisäyksen kokonaistoimituskykyyn ja kasvuun.

Näillä investoinneilla yhtiö varmistaa yhä tehokkaamman toimitus- ja palvelukyvyn vastatakseen parhaalla mahdollisella tavalla kasvuun sekä jakelijoidensa ja asiakkaidensa tarpeisiin.

ROBIT TO COOPERATE WITH SKIER HILLA NIEMELÄ

Robit has signed a sponsors and partnership contract with the promising 20-year-old skier Hilla Niemelä.

Born in Lempäälä but currently living and training in Vuokatti, Hilla Niemelä is one of the fastest rising young stars of the Finnish skiing scene. She began her skiing career as part of Lempäälän Kisa, however, she was later picked up by her current team, Ikaalisten Urheilijat. To date, Niemelä has already been a part of the Finnish national team and represented Finland, for example, twice at the U20 World Championship in Lahti and Vuokatti, as well as at U18 European Olympic Festival in Sarajevo.

Robit wants to support not only competitive sports at the highest level, but also sports for children and the youth. The basis of the cooperation between Robit and Niemelä is therefore built on shared values and content that is produced together. In practice, the partnership will include traditional logo visibility as well as significant amounts of social media updates on Niemelä’s training, competitions, development, goals, latest news, and expectations for the future.

ROBIT YHTEISTYÖHÖN HIIHTÄJÄ HILLA NIEMELÄN KANSSA

Robit on solminut sponsorointi- ja yhteistyösopimuksen 20-vuotiaan hiihtäjälupauksen Hilla Niemelän kanssa.

Lempäälästä kotoisin oleva, nykyään Vuokatissa asuva ja harjoitteleva Hilla Niemelä on yksi Suomen hiihtopiirien nopeimmin nousevista nuorista lupauksista. Niemelä aloitti hiihtouransa Lempäälän Kisan riveissä, josta hänet myöhemmin napattiin vahvistamaan Ikaalisten Urheilijoita, jonka riveissä hän on tänäkin päivänä. Niemelä on ehtinyt olla osana Suomen nuorten maajoukkuetta sekä edustanut Suomea mm. kahdesti U20 MM -kilpailuissa Lahdessa ja Vuokatissa sekä U18 Euroopan Olympiafestivaaleilla Sarajevossa.

NEW DISTRIBUTOR PARTNER REPLACES ROBIT’S OWN SALES COMPANY IN KAZAKHSTAN

Robit Plc has signed a new distributor agreement with Eurasian Machinery LLP, which will continue serving Robit’s customers in Kazakhstan.

Robit Plc and Eurasian Machinery LLP have recently established a strong cooperation to serve the drilling industry in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. In connection to this new co-operation, Robit Plc has decided to discontinue its sales company’s operations (TOO Robit Kazakhstan) in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan.

Eurasian Machinery LLP is the largest company supplying specialized machinery and equipment for mining, construction, and oil and gas enterprises in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Eurasian Machinery LLP is the official distributor of Hitachi Construction Machinery (HCM) in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. ROBIT PLC: NINTH CONSECUTIVE QUARTER OF GROWTH

The positive development of net sales and profitability continued. The second quarter of the year was already the ninth consecutive quarter of growth on the corresponding period. Also, EBITDA has improved over the corresponding period in five consecutive quarters.

Robit’s net sales for the first half of the year grew by 10.0 percent compared to the corresponding period and totalled EUR 48.1 million (43.7). In constant currencies, the change was 10.7 percent. EBITDA improved clearly in the first half of the year totalling EUR 3.4 million (1.4). The improvement was EUR 2.0 million compared to the corresponding period. Orders received grew by 6.9 percent on the corresponding period and totalled EUR 49.6 million (46.4).

In the second quarter of the year, Robit reached new records in both net sales and orders received. The company’s net sales for the second quarter of the year totalled EUR 25.1 million (22.3), up 12.7 percent on the corresponding period. Simultaneously, EBITDA improved 77.2 percent totalling EUR 1.9 million (1.1). Orders received grew by 23.1 percent on the corresponding period and totalled EUR 26.5 million.

Top Hammer business grew strongly in H1 2021 in almost all markets. Only in the Asia region did sales decrease compared with the corresponding period. Robit invested in increasing Top Hammer production capacity in Finland and South Korea. Down the Hole business did not grow in line with Robit’s targets. However, the company stand a good chance of growing with a renewed DTH offering and by focusing on winning new customers in selected markets in this area.

In H1 2021, all markets grew except for Asia. The strongest growth was in the Americas region. The EMEA and East regions also grew well. Robit made good progress in expanding sales coverage through new distributor partnerships. During the first half of the year, the company signed six new distribution agreements, and a few important new partnerships are under negotiations.

During the review period, Robit entered into a new financing agreement of EUR 30.0 million. The company withdrew EUR 26.5 million from the loan at the end of the review period. The loan refinanced the company’s old loans of EUR 22.5 million and reduced the use of the company’s bank overdrafts.

Robit expects the market situation to develop positively and believes COVID-19 restrictions to have a limited impact on the demand of Robit’s products in 2021. Robit estimates that net sales for 2021 will grow and comparable EBITDA profitability in euros will improve compared with 2020.

ROBIT OYJ: YHDEKSÄS PERÄKKÄINEN KASVUN VUOSINELJÄNNES

Liikevaihdon ja kannattavuuden positiivinen kehitys jatkui. Toinen vuosineljännes oli jo yhdeksäs peräkkäinen vuosineljännes, jolloin Robit kasvoi vertailukauteen nähden. EBITDA on parantunut vertailukauteen nähden viitenä peräkkäisenä vuosineljänneksenä.

Robitin liikevaihto kasvoi tammi-kesäkuussa 10,0 prosenttia vertailukauteen nähden ja oli 48,1 miljoonaa euroa (43,7). Vertailukelpoisin valuutoin muutos oli 10,7 prosenttia. EBITDA parani selvästi tammi-kesäkuussa ollen 3,4 miljoonaa euroa (1,4). Parannus oli 2,0 miljoonaa euroa vertailukauteen nähden. Saadut tilaukset kasvoivat 6,9 prosenttia vertailukauteen nähden päätyen 49,6 miljoonaan euroon (46,4).

Vuoden toisella neljänneksellä Robit saavutti uudet ennätykset liikevaihdossa ja tilauskertymässä. Yhtiön liikevaihto oli toisella vuosineljänneksellä 25,1 miljoonaa euroa (22,3). Kasvua vertailukauteen oli 12,7 prosenttia. EBITDA parani samanaikaisesti 77,2 prosenttia ollen 1,9 miljoonaa euroa (1,1). Yhtiön tilauskertymä kasvoi 23,1 prosenttia vertailukauteen nähden ollen 26,5 miljoonaa euroa.

Top Hammer -liiketoiminta kasvoi vahvasti ensimmäisen vuosineljänneksen aikana lähes kaikilla markkina-alueilla. Ainoastaan Asia-alueella myynti laski vertailukauteen verrattuna. Robit investoi Top Hammer -tuotantokapasiteetin nostoon Suomessa ja Etelä-Koreassa. Down the Hole -liiketoiminta ei kasvanut Robitin tavoitteiden mukaisesti, mutta yhtiöllä on hyvät mahdollisuudet kasvaa uudistetulla DTH-tarjonnalla sekä keskittymällä valikoiduilla markkinoilla uusien asiakkuuksien voittamiseen.

Vuoden ensimmäisellä puoliskolla kaikki markkina-alueet kasvoivat lukuun ottamatta Asia-aluetta. Vahvinta kasvu oli Americas-alueella. Myös EMEA- ja East-alueet kasvoivat hyvin. Robitin jakelun kehityshankkeet edistyivät hyvin uusien jakelijakumppanuuksien myötä. Yhtiö allekirjoitti kuusi uutta jakelijasopimusta ensimmäisen vuosipuoliskon aikana ja muutama merkittävä uusi kumppanuus on neuvottelun alla.

Robit solmi katsauskaudella uuden 30,0 miljoonan euron rahoitussopimuksen. Yhtiö nosti lainasta 26,5 miljoonaa euroa katsauskauden lopussa, jolla rahoitettiin yhtiön vanhan 22,5 miljoonan euron lainat sekä pienennettiin yhtiön luotollisten tilien käyttöä.

Robit arvioi markkinatilanteen kehittyvän positiivisesti ja uskoo COVID-19-rajoitusten vaikuttavan rajallisesti yhtiön tuotteiden kysyntään vuoden 2021 aikana. Robit arvioi vuoden 2021 liikevaihdon kasvavan ja euromääräisen vertailukelpoisen EBITDA-kannattavuuden paranevan vuoteen 2020 verrattuna.

ROBIT HAS PURCHASED A PATENTED PRODUCT INVENTION

Robit has in the recent years strengthened and grown its position in the construction industry and particularly in piling and supporting business. As a part of this development Robit has purchased a product invention and related patents from Tri-Mach Oy, a Finnish company manufacturing piling products.

This novelty applies particularly in drilling and installing large piles. As the current trend indicates, the diameter of piles is increasing up to two meters. Robit believes that this novelty suits well in the current market development and provides significant benefits to the customers compared to their existing solutions.

Robit has started a pilot project to launch the product in the market as well as will initiate product tests in cooperation with its key customers.

Robit has globally a strong market position as well as wide knowledge in the construction industry and particularly in customer solutions of piling and supporting business. This sector comprises a considerable part of Robit’s DTH business area and its growth strategy.

The value of the purchase is not significant and thus, is not disclosed by the parties.

ROBIT OSTANUT PATENTOIDUN TUOTEKEKSINNÖN

Robit on viime vuosina vahvistanut ja kasvattanut asemaansa rakennusteollisuuden paalutus- ja tuentaliiketoiminnassa. Osana tätä kehitystä Robit on ostanut suomalaiselta paalutustuotteita valmistavalta Tri-Mach Oy:ltä tuotekeksinnön ja siihen liittyvät patentit.

ROBIT PLC: NET SALES AND PROFITABILITY IMPROVED

Robit continued good development in the first quarter of the year. Company’s growth and profitability developed steadily. Also, growth projects proceeded as planned.

Robit’s net sales grew by 7.1 percent in January–March compared to the corresponding period, totaling EUR 23.0 million (21.5). In constant currencies, the change was 8.7 percent. Robit reached also the highest net sales month in the company’s history in March. In the mining sector in particular, business development was good.

Simultaneously, Robit’s profitability developed as planned. EBITDA improved distinctly in January–March totaling EUR 1.6 million (0.4). The improvement was EUR 1.2 million compared to the corresponding period.

Orders received fell by 7.1 percent compared to the corresponding period. On the background was a timing issue related to a single significant order in the first quarter of 2020.

Both Top Hammer and Down the Hole business grew in the first quarter of the year. Simultaneously, the development of the East region continued to be excellent, mainly as a result of the good development of the mining segment. The solid growth continued also in the EMEA region, where the strongest development took place in the Nordic countries due to a good market situation of the construction sector. Robit’s distribution development projects progressed well with new distributor agreements. Also, the worldwide launch of the new Rbit button bit series was a success.

Robit expects the market situation to develop positively and believes COVID-19 restrictions to have a limited impact on the demand of Robit’s products in 2021. Demand is supported by the positive development in the price of metals and customers’ good work situation in the construction market areas that are relevant to Robit.

Robit estimates 2021 net sales to grow and euro-dominated comparable EBITDA profitability to improve from 2020.
