Jaana Koivuniemi – Finland

I have worked at Robit for ten years now, starting out as a summer employee, and currently I work in the packing section.

What I like best about my job is my great colleagues and the variety of my duties! Although the morning shifts are busy, even hectic, I still enjoy it.

And the day brings its challenging moments, too: in the middle of all the hustle and bustle, it’s important to keep a cool head to ensure the right order gets to the right destination. There are so many different types of models of all the products that it is easy to mix them up if the orders are not given 100% focus.

Robit is a really great place to work, and I appreciate that they take care of the well-being of their employees. The cultural vouchers, for example, are fantastic! I’m very happy to be recognised with the title of Production worker of the year 2013.

After a well-managed work day, I like to relax at home with my good-natured English bulldog.

Sang Hee Kim – South Korea

The South Korean unit’s production employee of the year 2015, I am a materials engineer and work at Robit’s Donghae plant.

After graduating from university, I worked in electronics and construction, among other jobs. That helped me when applying for a job at Robit, as did my studies in materials engineering, which also involved learning about drill rigs.

I am a CNC operator and I have held a couple of different positions during my five years here. We are like one big family, which is really nice. If I have a problem, my colleagues are always willing to help me resolve it.

Regarding my responsibilities, as a CNC operator, I am focussed on developing my skills and constantly improving in my job. I have been learning particularly about CNC programming, and someday I will be a CNC master.

As for my spare time, my hobby is currently playing with my six-year-old. And if I can find the time, I would really like to play tennis, practice fencing and go fishing.

Sun Mi Kim – South Korea

I am an Administration Coordinator and have worked at Robit Korea Ltd since autumn 2010. My responsibilities include assisting with bookkeeping, calculating the payroll, purchasing tools and miscellaneous goods, and managing inventories.

I am responsible for employee attendance management and financing. At the start of the month I go over the due dates, for example, for bookkeeping, payroll and sales.

A diligent worker, I always put 100% into my work – whether the task is big or small.

I hope that I will have further development within the company and would like to work for a long time. I previously graduated from Kangwon National University.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies and rollerskating.

Anssi Lehtinen – Finland

I started working in production at Robit’s Lempäälä plant in 2011. I work with ground drilling products, and my tasks include inserting carbide buttons and pressing and operating the blackening line. I like having diverse job roles.

My diverse tasks and nice colleagues are definitely the best part of my job. The most challenging thing is managing my sleep cycles in three-shift work.

In my free time, I go fishing, play billiards and grow chili peppers. I consider Robit a reliable and flexible employer, and I was happy to be chosen as Production Employee of the Year. Of course it’s nice to hear that my efforts at work are appreciated.

Jinman Kim – South Korea

I am a production team shift supervisor at the Donghae factory in Korea. I had been working for YP-CND since the early 2000s and became a Robit employee after Robit acquired YP-CND in 2011.

My typical working day consists of managing a number of things at the factory site, such as shift employees, machine maintenance, allocating machine resources, CNC programming, et cetera.

What I like best about my job is that it gives me great satisfaction to see something that has so far only been an imaginary drawing turn into a real object in a machine. I also enjoy training and learning about new machines and systems.

As for spare time, we are very busy at the Korea factory these days and it’s not always easy to find spare time. But when I do, I like to take a walk by a nice little river near my home or go hiking in the mountains.

Stephen Straw – UK

I am a CNC machinist at Bulroc Robit UK, Chesterfield. I have worked for Bulroc for some 30 years.

My day-to-day work mainly consists of programming and operating various CNC lathes. I specialise in manufacturing the larger hammer and one of our special orders. I enjoy working on new production projects and it gives me great satisfaction when the new product works correctly.

Bulroc was acquired by Robit about a year ago. Has that changed anything?

Since the takeover I have seen numerous changes in the form of new machinery and other investments, bringing us more up-to-date and in line with our competitors. Also, the health and safety implementation have made the workplace a safer place to be.

In my spare time I like to visit and keep in contact with my family who mainly live away. I have hobbies such as golf, keeping fit and walking my dog. I also enjoy having a good bottle of wine with friends.

Minna Turpeinen – Finland

I joined Robit in 2005.

I started as a metal worker in 1994, making, for example, springs. Currently I spend a large part of my working day at Robit by the furnace, inserting buttons and carrying out the related measurements. During my time as shift supervisor, I make sure that the required products are made on time, and I am responsible for the work order. In addition, I am the industrial safety delegate for the employees. Shift supervisors are also responsible for receiving goods and for the work arrangements of their shifts. Their efforts have a considerable influence on our delivery reliability and on work efficiency.

The best thing about my job is definitely my nice and hard-working colleagues! I like being able to work independently. The changing workdays are also a big bonus. The most challenging aspect of my job is figuring out how to squeeze all the things I plan to get done into my 8-hour shift! (laughing). In spring and autumn I spend my free time berry- and mushroom-picking. Fishing is also fun, although nowadays I don’t have much time for it. I do handicrafts whenever I can find the time.
