Meet us at Conex Korea 2021

Welcome to the largest and most comprehensive exhibition specialized for construction machinery in Korea. The 11th time organized Conex Korea 2021 will be held between 10-13 November in Kintex exhibition center in Seoul. You will find us at the booth no. J36 (Kintex hall 2,3).

Robit will introduce its unbeatable solutions especially for underground construction and tunneling but also for other applications. We’ll bring You the latest knowledge of Forepoling technology, also known as tube umbrella, where tunnel roof is strengthened in broken rock conditions. Drilling system consists of casing tubes which are drilled through the overburden as an umbrella and filled with grouting. Robit® Casing System, known as patented Robit® RoX Casing Systems series for forepoling, allows easy driving of the casing tubes into the ground with low torque demand. In modern forepoling also fibreglass casings can be used for ultra-long face bolts.

Come and get familiar also for the new RbitTM button bit series for Top Hammer. Rbit features the fastest rate of penetration in any of our bits so far. It breaks the rock faster and with less effort, causing significant savings in fuel costs, and has the lowest cost per meter, which is still very helpful in bringing down the total costs.

Robit team will be delighted to tell you more about our tunneling products and also other drilling consumables in our offering.

Warmly welcome!

Meet professional skier Hilla Niemelä

My name is Hilla Niemelä, and I’m a 20-years old cross-country skier from Lempäälä, Finland. For the past four years, however, I have been living in Northern Finland, Vuokatti. Having decided to pursue a career as a competitive skier, I came here to attend to the sports-oriented high school. And now, having concluded my studies, I am a full-time athlete.

I have had the opportunity to be a part of the youth national team, as well as to represent Finland twice in the youth World Championships and at the European Youth Olympic Festival. My main goal for the upcoming season is to attend the U23 World Championship.

Vuokatti has been an amazing environment for me to train and develop. And speaking of training, I do that for approximately 800-850 hours’ worth each year, which includes a variety of different sports. During the summers, I focus particularly on roller skiing and running, while in the winters I naturally mostly ski. In addition to these, I also do lots of strength practice and other trainings relevant for skiing, such as leaps.

On an average week, I have some 10-14 training sessions, for a total of 15-25 hours. During the summer and autumn, I of course train significantly more than during the competition season in the winter, because I need to be well-rested and energized for the competitions and can’t strain myself too much outside of them.

My father, Ville Niemelä, acts as my coach and is perfect for the job, considering he has some experience of his own from competitive skiing. It is wonderful to have a familiar and close person, who has gone through the same things I am now facing, next to me.

The competition season has already begun on my part in Vuokatti, with the Finnish Championship in roller skiing. The competition consisted of two races, a classic-style sprint and a free-style 12 km distance, and I took part in the open series in both. I’m delighted to share that I finished in the top 10 in both of the races.

The last month before the snow competition season is now about to begin now, with the start of October. This can be seen in my training as we aim to get adjusted to the feel of snow and focus on reaching higher speeds on skis.

The most important thing for an athlete is to keep healthy and maintain a balance between training and recovery. This will allow me to measure my optimal state for competition, after which I’ll do my best and see where my name will land on the rankings. However, my training in the summer and at the start of the autumn has been very successful and I have managed to land some personal records in different tests. So, I just need to keep everything together, and I’m certain I will be in my best condition yet by winter and more ready to take on the competition season than ever before.

I will return with more detailed reports from my training in October and my thoughts on the competition season before the start of the season in November.

– Hilla

As every two years, the Association of Mining Engineers, Metallurgists and Geologists of Mexico will be in charge of initiating preparations for the International Mining Convention, one of the most important mining events in Latin America.

The 34th edition of the Convention will take place from 19 to 22 October 2021, at the beautiful port of Acapulco Guerrero as its headquarters, a place we consider home of the miners.

The works will be carried out in the exhibition center Mundo Imperial, undoubtedly one of the best places in Mexico for its beauty and efficiency. You will find us at the booth #660.

Through our technologies and support, we are pleased to help the major mining and quarrying sector with all their drilling needs and offer the solutions to even the toughest projects. Come and meet our experts to hear more about the widest offering in top quality drilling consumables. Robit is representing among other things drilling novelties:

The RbitTM button bit for Top Hammer features the fastest rate of penetration in any of our bits so far. It breaks the rock faster and with less effort, causing significant savings in fuel costs, and has the lowest cost per meter, which is still very helpful in bringing down the total costs.

The tubeless WH TL -hammer series for DTH drilling functions without the foot valve, which is often considered to be the most fragile part when drilling, thus eliminating the operational downtime needed to replace the valve. The hammer features improved strength and optimal performance, as well as adjustable airflow, to allow for increased efficiency.

Finally, Robit’s new Extreme Carbide, for applications in abrasive ground, is designed to resist wear, with a durable dual-property carbide layer on the outside. The Extreme grade #4 carbide stays sharp for longer, thus improving productivity by reducing the downtime caused by the regrind process. The carbide also has increased performance of over 50% bit life, providing increased benefits also for those preferring to drill till the destruction of the bit.

So, while durability is key for the lowest cost per meter, there are a lot of things to consider when aiming for the lowest total drilling cost. However, each of those things arrives with a whole host of new opportunities for savings.

¡Nos vemos en Acapulco!

See you in Acapulco!
