ROBIT OYJ: LIIKEVAIHTO JA KANNATTAVUUS PARANIVAT

Robit jatkoi hyvää kehitystä vuoden ensimmäisellä neljänneksellä. Yhtiön kasvu ja kannattavuus kehittyivät vakaasti. Myös kasvuhankkeet etenivät suunnitellusti.

Robitin liikevaihto kasvoi tammi-maaliskuussa 7,1 prosenttia vertailukauteen nähden ja oli 23,0 miljoonaa euroa (21,5). Vertailukelpoisin valuutoin muutos oli 8,7 prosenttia. Robit saavutti myös yhtiön historian korkeimman liikevaihtokuukauden maaliskuussa. Erityisesti kaivostoimialalla liiketoiminta kehittyi hyvin.

Robitin kannattavuus kehittyi myös suunnitelmien mukaisesti. EBITDA parani selvästi tammi-maaliskuussa ollen 1,6 miljoonaa euroa (0,4). Parannus oli 1,2 miljoonaa euroa vertailukauteen nähden.

Saadut tilaukset laskivat 7,1 prosenttia vertailukauteen nähden johtuen ajoituskysymyksestä liittyen yksittäiseen merkittävään tilaukseen vuoden 2020 ensimmäisellä vuosineljänneksellä.

Sekä Top Hammer – että Down the Hole -liiketoiminta kasvoivat ensimmäisen vuosineljänneksen aikana. Markkina-alueista etenkin East-alueen kehitys jatkui erinomaisena kaivossegmentin hyvän kehityksen seurauksena.  Hyvä kasvu jatkui myös EMEA-alueella, jossa kehitys oli vahvinta Pohjoismaissa rakennustoimialan hyvän markkinatilanteen johdosta. Robitin jakelun kehityshankkeet edistyivät hyvin uusien jakelijasopimusten myötä. Myös uuden Rbit-porakruunusarjan maailmanlaajuinen lanseeraus oli onnistunut.

Robit arvioi markkinatilanteen kehittyvän positiivisesti ja uskoo COVID-19-rajoitusten vaikuttavan rajallisesti Robitin tuotteiden kysyntään vuoden 2021 aikana. Kysyntää tukevat positiivinen metallien hinnan kehitys ja hyvällä tasolla oleva asiakkaiden työtilanne Robitille merkityksellisillä rakennusteollisuuden markkina-alueilla.

Robit arvioi vuoden 2021 liikevaihdon kasvavan ja euromääräisen vertailukelpoisen EBITDA-kannattavuuden paranevan vuoteen 2020 verrattuna.

ROBIT PLC FINANCIAL STATEMENTS 1 JANUARY – 31 DECEMBER 2020: NET SALES, PROFITABILITY AND CASH FLOW IMPROVED DESPITE EXCEPTIONAL TIMES

In 2020, Robit’s net sales grew by 11 percent in constant currencies despite the COVID-19 restrictions. Robit’s profitability and cash flow developed likewise positively in the exceptional environment.

During the financial year, the company’s net sales grew by 6.0 percent to EUR 91.6 million (86.5). In constant currencies, the change was 10.8 percent. Simultaneously, Robit’s order intake grew by 8.1 percent and the company’s adjusted EBITDA improved to EUR 5.1 million (2.7). The operating cash flow for the financial year totalled EUR 4.3 million (0.4).

The last quarter of the year 2020 developed also positively as the company’s net sales grew by 6.9 percent on the comparison period and totalled EUR 23.7 million (22.2). In constant currencies, the company’s net sales grew by 14.1 percent. Simultaneously, Robit’s order intake grew by 24.4 percent and the company’s adjusted EBITDA improved to EUR 2.1 million (-0.3). The operating cash flow for the last quarter of the year totalled EUR 4.1 million (0.7).

“Robit was able to implement the efficiency measures launched during the spring well and the savings were mainly realized already in the second half of the year. Robit now has a good structure for developing the company towards strategic goals, and the company is moving from the stage of structural changes to the stage of continuous improvement and growth. Robit now focuses on growth and the implementation of product margin improvement projects. The current fixed cost structure supports the company’s next growth stage without significant increases. Ensuring product availability is key to the company’s growth and profitability development, and Robit will continue to develop the related business processes. The company’s Top Hammer business as a whole and individual product groups in the Down the Hole business have developed strongly and the outlook remains bright. As a result, Robit is bringing forward investment plans in Lempäälä and Korea. The company expects, however, that the investments will remain below depreciation and that the proportion of depreciation in relation to net sales will decrease”, states Tommi Lehtonen, Group CEO.

Robit expects the market situation to develop positively and believes COVID-19 restrictions to have a limited impact on the demand of Robit’s products in 2021. Robit estimates 2021 net sales to grow and euro-dominated comparable EBITDA profitability to improve from 2020.

ROBIT OYJ TILINPÄÄTÖS 1.1.–31.12.2020: LIIKEVAIHTO, KANNATTAVUUS JA KASSAVIRTA PARANIVAT POIKKEUKSELLISISTA AJOISTA HUOLIMATTA

Vuonna 2020 Robitin liikevaihto kasvoi vertailukelpoisin valuutoin 11 prosenttia COVID-19-pandemian aiheuttamista rajoituksista huolimatta. Myös kannattavuus ja kassavirta kehittyivät poikkeuksellisessa toimintaympäristössä hyvin.

Yhtiön liikevaihto kasvoi 91,6 miljoonaan euroon (86,5) eli kasvua oli vuositasolla 6,0 prosenttia. Vertailukelpoisin valuutoin muutos oli 10,8 prosenttia. Robitin tilauskertymä kasvoi samanaikaisesti 8,1 prosenttia ja vertailukelpoinen EBITDA kehittyi positiivisesti ollen 5,1 miljoonaa euroa (2,7). Operatiivinen kassavirta parani ollen 4,3 miljoonaa euroa (0,4).

Myös vuoden 2020 viimeinen vuosineljännes kehittyi suotuisasti liikevaihdon kasvaessa 6,9 prosenttia vertailukauteen nähden, jolloin liikevaihto oli 23,7 miljoonaa euroa (22,2). Vertailukelpoisin valuutoin kasvua oli 14,1 prosenttia. Robitin tilauskertymä kasvoi samanaikaisesti 24,4 prosenttia ja vertailukelpoinen EBITDA kehittyi positiivisesti ollen 2,1 miljoonaa euroa (-0,3). Operatiivinen kassavirta parani ollen 4,1 miljoonaa euroa (0,7).

”Robit sai toteutettua kevään aikana käynnistetyt tehostustoimet hyvin ja pääosin säästöt toteutuivat jo vuoden toisella puoliskolla. Robitilla on nyt hyvä rakenne yhtiön kehittämiseen kohti strategisia tavoitteita ja yhtiö siirtyy rakenteellisten muutosten vaiheesta jatkuvan parantamisen ja kasvun vaiheeseen. Robit keskittyy nyt kasvuun ja tuotemarginaalin parannushankkeiden implementointiin. Nykyinen kiinteäkulurakenne tukee yhtiön seuraavaa kasvuvaihetta ilman merkittäviä lisäyksiä. Tuotteiden saatavuuden varmistaminen on keskeistä yhtiön kasvun ja kannattavuuden kehitykselle ja Robit jatkaa tähän liittyvien liiketoimintaprosessien kehitystä. Yhtiön Top Hammer -liiketoiminta kokonaisuudessaan ja yksittäiset tuoteryhmät Down the Hole -liiketoiminnassa ovat kehittyneet vahvasti ja näkymät ovat edelleen hyvät. Robit on tämän seurauksena aikaistamassa investointisuunnitelmia Lempäälässä ja Koreassa. Yhtiö arvioi, että investoinnit pysyvät kuitenkin poistoja pienempinä ja poistojen suhteellinen osuus liikevaihtoon nähden laskee”, toteaa Tommi Lehtonen, Robit Oyj:n toimitusjohtaja.

Robit arvioi markkinatilanteen kehittyvän positiivisesti ja uskoo COVID-19-rajoitusten vaikuttavan rajallisesti Robitin tuotteiden kysyntään vuoden 2021 aikana. GEORGE APOSTOLOPOULOS NIMITETTY ROBITIN MYYNTIJOHTAJAKSI

Robit Oyj on nimittänyt George Apostolopouloksen (s. 1969, MBA, M.Sc.in Eng. Solid Mech.) yhtiön globaaliksi myyntijohtajaksi, VP Global Sales 1.12.2020 alkaen.

George Apostolopoulos tulee keskittymään Robitin globaalin myyntitoiminnan sekä jakelijaverkoston kehittämiseen yhdessä yhtiön myyntitiimien kanssa.

Apostolopoulos on toiminut 20 vuoden urallaan useissa eri porausliiketoiminnan johtotehtävissä Euroopassa, Länsi-Afrikassa ja Keski-Aasiassa, joista viimeisimmät toimipisteet ovat sijainneet Ghanassa, Kazakstanissa ja Kreikassa keskittyen erityisesti kaivosteollisuuden poralaitteiston ja -kaluston myynnin kasvun kehittämiseen.

ROBIT AND BIA HAVE SIGNED AN EXCLUSIVE DISTRIBUTOR AGREEMENT

Robit Group and BIA Group have signed an exclusive distributor agreement. Based on the agreement, BIA will represent Robit and distribute all Robit products in 17 countries across West and Central Africa (Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Zambia, Mauritania, Guinea Conakry, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Togo, Benin, Niger, Chad, Cameroon, Central African Republic, and Republic of Congo).

Robit’s partnership with BIA is developed to ensure highest possible services levels for drillers in West and Middle African countries.

ROBIT PLC: STRONG GROWTH – FOURTH CONSECUTIVE QUARTER OF GROWTH

Robit continues on a solid path of growth. The company now reports a fourth consecutive quarter of the company’s net sales growing.

Robit’s net sales grew by 8.8 percent in July–September 2020 compared to the comparative period, totaling EUR 24.2 million (22.2). In constant currencies, the change was 16.2 percent. Simultaneously, Robit’s orders received grew by 7.8 percent. In January–September, Robit’s net sales totaled EUR 67.9 million (64.3), up 5.6 percent on the comparison period. In constant currencies, the growth was 9.7 percent.

Robit’s profitability developed as planned. EBITDA in July–September 2020 improved totaling EUR 1.7 million (0.2). In particular, the development of sales and the improved cost structure supported the positive development of profitability. The current structure and resources enable Robit to continue to grow and progressively improve its profitability.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Robit managed to continue its growth and maintain active sales work. All the company’s four factories operated also without distractions and increased their production to meet the growing sales.

Market demand still varied significantly across regions and countries. The development of demand was tied to business restrictions imposed by regional authorities. In general, governments have made it possible for the mining and construction industry to return to normal operations. These restrictions are expected to continue for the time being.  Based on the current facts, the impact of these restrictions is expected to be moderate in consumables business.

Robit will launch new products during the next months. Strengthened offering will support company’s development during next year.

On 24 March 2020, Robit renounced its profit guidance for the financial year 2020 for the time being. The uncertainty of the development of the business and economy caused by coronavirus makes normal forecasting of business outlooks more difficult. The outlook and guidance can be updated again once the market situation offers the normal preconditions for it.

ROBIT OYJ: VAHVAA KASVUA – NELJÄS PERÄKKÄINEN KASVUN VUOSINELJÄNNES

Robit jatkaa tukevalla kasvun tiellä. Yhtiö raportoi jo neljännen peräkkäisen kvartaalin, jolloin yhtiön liikevaihto kasvoi.

Robitin liikevaihto kasvoi heinä-syyskuussa 8,8 prosenttia vertailukauteen verrattuna ja oli 24,2 miljoonaa euroa (22,2). Vertailukelpoisin valuutoin muutos oli 16,2 prosenttia. Yhtiön tilaukset kasvoivat samanaikaisesti 7,8 prosenttia. Tammi-syyskuussa Robitin liikevaihto oli 67,9 miljoonaa euroa (64,3). Kasvua vertailukauteen oli 5,6 prosenttia. Vertailukelpoisin valuutoin kasvua oli 9,7 prosenttia.

Robitin kannattavuus kehittyi myös suunnitelmien mukaisesti. EBITDA parani heinä-syyskuussa ollen 1,7 miljoonaa euroa (0,2). Erityisesti myynnin volyymin kasvu ja tehostettu kustannusrakenne tukivat kannattavuuden positiivista kehitystä. Ne yhdessä mahdollistavat yhtiön kasvun jatkumisen ja tätä kautta kannattavuuden asteittaisen parannuksen.

Robit kykeni COVID-19-pandemiasta huolimatta jatkamaan kasvuaan ja ylläpitämään hyvää aktiivisuutta myyntityössään. Yhtiön kaikki neljä tehdasta toimivat myös häiriöittä ja nostivat tuotantomääriään vastaamaan kasvavaa myyntiä.

Kysyntätilanne markkinoilla vaihteli edelleen merkittävästi alueittain ja maittain. Kysynnän kehitys oli sidoksissa alueellisten viranomaisten asettamiin liiketoiminnallisiin rajoituksiin. Yleisesti ottaen hallitukset ovat mahdollistaneet kaivos- ja rakennusteollisuuden paluun normaaliin toimintaan. COVID-19-matkustusrajoitusten ja asiakkaiden suojautumisen viruksen aiheuttamia riskejä vastaan odotetaan jatkuvan vielä toistaiseksi. Vaikutuksen uskotaan nykytiedoilla olevan kuitenkin kulutusosaliiketoimintaan rajallinen.

Robit tuo markkinoille tuoteuutuuksia seuraavien kuukausien aikana ja yhtiö lähtee ensi vuoteen vahvemman tarjonnan tukemana.

Yhtiö luopui 24.3.2020 toistaiseksi tulosohjeistuksestaan vuodelle 2020. Koronaviruksen synnyttämä epävarmuus toimialan ja talouden kehityksestä vaikeuttaa liiketoiminnan näkymien normaalia ennakoimista. The cooperation negotiations concerning Robit Finland Ltd’s senior salaried employees ended on Thursday, 20 August 2020. Robit disclosed the initiation of the cooperation negotiations with a press release on 4 August 2020.

The cooperation negotiations covered all the senior salaried personnel of Robit Finland Ltd. The estimated need for reduction was five persons, at most.

As a result of the cooperation negotiations, Robit decided to terminate four persons, considering the current situation and future business needs and goals. The persons subject to the redundancies have been released from their obligation to work.

The object of the cooperation negotiations was to ensure and strengthen the company’s long-term profitability and cash flow.

Robit Finland Oy:n ylempiä toimihenkilöitä koskeneet yhteistoimintaneuvottelut päättyivät torstaina 20.8.2020. Yhtiö tiedotti neuvottelujen alkamisesta lehdistötiedotteella 4.8.2020.

Neuvottelut koskivat kaikkia Robit Finland Oy:n ylempien toimihenkilöiden henkilöstöryhmään kuuluvia työntekijöitä. Arvioitu vähentämistarve oli enintään viisi henkilöä.

Neuvottelujen tuloksena yhtiö päätti irtisanoa neljä henkilöä yhtiön nykytilanne sekä tulevaisuuden liiketoiminnan tarpeet ja tavoitteet huomioiden. Irtisanomisten kohteena olevat henkilöt on vapautettu työvelvoitteistaan.

ROBIT’S GROWTH CONTINUED DESPITE CHALLENGING MARKET SITUATION IN THE FIRST HALF-YEAR – GROWTH +4%

Robit’s invoicing and result developed positively despite the challenging market situation in the first half-year 2020.

Group’s net sales grew by 4.0 percent in January–June 2020 compared to the comparative period, totaling EUR 43.7 million (42.1). In constant currencies, the change was 6.7 percent. Simultaneously, Robit’s orders received grew by 1.8 percent, and EBITDA improved by 17.9 percent totaling EUR 2.0 million (1.7).

In the second quarter, Robit’s net sales totaled EUR 22.3 million (22.0), up 1.1 percent on the comparison period. In constant currencies, the growth was 5.0 percent.

Robit reacted rapidly to the regional turns of the market caused by COVID-19 under direction of corona project team consisting of the key personnel of the Group. Simultaneously, Robit continued active development work on the three long-term topics updated in 2020 – growth, profitability, and business processes.

Utilisation rate of Group’s production facilities improved during the review period. Among others, Robit’s South Korean factory performed production records on several successive months.

During the review period Robit agreed on the restructuring of EUR 24.5 million in loans with its main financing bank. In the new agreement, approximately 75 percent of the loans (EUR 18,5 million) were postponed, meaning a new due date on 30 June 2022. With this arrangement Robit wanted to ensure its liquidity in the spring’s uncertain market situation.

Due to coronavirus, Robit adjusted its cost level partly with temporary layoffs during the review period. The number of personnel decreased only by three employees compared to the end of comparative period, numbering 266 (269). At the end of review period, 70.1 percent of Group personnel were located outside Finland.

Coronavirus is still causing short-term insecurity in market situation. Although, the effects of pandemic eased off in June and the parallel development is expected to continue, the global rate of infection cases is still high. Restrictions on customers’ operations and thus, to Robit’s demand are still possible. Long-term effects to Robit’s operations depend on how long the restrictions continue. As Robit Group operates in consumables business, the effects are less moderate than in investment commodity business. In addition, many of Robit’s customers operate in the fields such as mining industry, which are economically significant for those countries they locate. Thus, consumables business is expected to suffer less of economic impacts.

”Robit keeps working on securing the health of its personnel and continuation of the business operations. Robit’s present structure enables growth in accordance with the Group strategy as well as improvement of profitability when the business environment starts to normalize”, states Group CEO, Tommi Lehtonen.

Robit renounced its guidance for 2020 for the time being on 24 March 2020. Due to the uncertainty in the industry and economy caused by coronavirus, it is difficult to forecast the future of the business. Robit will update the outlook and guidance again when the market situation provides normal conditions.

Robitin laskutus ja tulos kehittyivät positiivisesti haastavasta markkinatilanteesta huolimatta ensimmäisellä vuosipuoliskolla 2020.

Konsernin liikevaihto kasvoi tammi-kesäkuussa 4,0 prosenttia vertailukauteen verrattuna ja oli 43,7 miljoonaa euroa (42,1). Vertailukelpoisin valuutoin muutos oli 6,7 prosenttia. Robitin tilauskertymä kasvoi samanaikaisesti 1,8 prosenttia ja EBITDA parani 17,9 prosenttia ollen 2,0 miljoonaa euroa (1,7).

Toisella vuosineljänneksellä Robitin liikevaihto oli 22,3 miljoonaa euroa (22,0). Kasvua vertailukauteen oli 1,1 prosenttia. Vertailukelpoisin valuutoin kasvua oli 5,0 prosenttia.

Robit reagoi nopeasti COVID-19-ympäristön alueellisiin markkinamuutoksiin konsernin avainhenkilöistä koostuneen koronatyöryhmän johdolla. Konserni jatkoi samanaikaisesti aktiivista kehitystyötä vuonna 2020 päivitetyn kolmen pidemmän tähtäimen teeman alla – kasvu, kannattavuus ja liiketoimintaprosessit.

Konsernin tuotantolaitosten käyttöaste parani katsauskaudella. Muun muassa Robitin Etelä-Korean tehdas teki tuotantoennätyksiä useana kuukautena peräkkäin.

Robit sopi katsauskaudella päärahoittajapankkinsa kanssa 24,5 miljoonan euron lainojensa uudelleenjärjestelyistä. Uuden sopimuksen mukaan noin 75 prosentin osuus lainoista (18,5 miljoonaa euroa) siirrettiin maksettavaksi 30.6.2022. Robit halusi varmistaa näin kassavalmiuttaan kevään epävarmassa markkinatilanteessa.

Koronaviruksen johdosta konserni sopeutti katsauskaudella kulutasoaan osin myös lomautuksilla. Henkilöstön määrä laski vertailukauden loppuun verrattuna vain kolmella henkilöllä ja oli katsauskauden päättyessä 266 (269). Katsauskauden lopussa Robitin henkilöstöstä 70,1 prosenttia oli Suomen ulkopuolella.

Koronavirus aiheuttaa edelleen epävarmuutta markkinatilanteeseen lyhyellä aikavälillä. Vaikka pandemian vaikutukset lieventyivät kesäkuussa ja vastaavan kehityksen odotetaan jatkuvan, maailmanlaajuisten tautitapausten määrä on edelleen korkea. Rajoitukset asiakkaiden toimintaan ja sitä kautta Robitin kysyntään ovat edelleen mahdollisia. Pitkällä aikavälillä vaikutukset Robitin toimintaan riippuvat siitä, miten kauan rajoitustoimet jatkuvat. Konsernin toimiessa kulutusosaliiketoiminnassa vaikutukset ovat lievempiä kuin investointihyödykkeiden liiketoiminnassa. Lisäksi monet Robitin asiakkaista toimivat aloilla, jotka ovat merkityksellisiä kyseisen maan talouden kannalta, kuten kaivosteollisuudessa. Siten tämän kulutusosaliiketoiminnan voidaan olettaa kärsivän vähemmän talouteen kohdistuvista vaikutuksista.

ROBIT INITIATES EMPLOYEE COOPERATION NEGOTIATIONS IN FINLAND

Robit initiates employee cooperation negotiations in its subsidiary, Robit Finland Ltd, in relation to possible changes and actions to ensure and strengthen the company’s long-term profitability and cash flow. Robit disclosed the temporary lay-offs carried out in its Finnish units with a press release on 2 April 2020 as a part of preparing for COVID-19 situation.

”In the present business environment, we are obliged to carry out also permanent cost savings based on profitability reasons, preparing at the same time for a longer duration of COVID-19 effects,” states Group CEO, Tommi Lehtonen.

Employee cooperation negotiations cover senior salaried personnel of Robit Finland Ltd. Negotiations may result in terminations based on financial or production-related reasons and may lead at most to a termination of five employees.

Employee cooperation negotiations start on 10 August 2020 and last for two weeks, at most.

Robit käynnistää tytäryhtiössään, Robit Finland Oy:ssä yhteistoimintaneuvottelut mahdollisista muutoksista ja toimenpiteistä, joiden tarkoituksena on yrityksen kannattavuuden ja kassavirran varmistaminen ja vahvistaminen pitkällä aikavälillä. Robit Plc will publish its half-year financial report January-June 2020 on Thursday, 6 August 2020 at 11.00 a.m.

Robit Plc, 1 January – 31 March 2020:
ROBIT’S NET SALES AND ORDERS RECEIVED GREW

Robit’s development in early 2020 was stable and in line with the company’s expectations. The company continued to work systematically towards its long-term strategic objectives. The rapid global spread of the coronavirus pandemic had limited impact on demand for the company’s products during the review period.

The Group’s net sales grew by 7.1% year on year and totaled EUR 21.5 million (20.1). First-quarter orders received totaled EUR 24.9 million, up 6.8% on the comparison period and 31.5% higher than in the fourth quarter of 2019. 

“In the first quarter, mining business developed positively, particularly with regard to Top Hammer sales in the EMEA region. During the review period, we received, among others, two large mining orders from the CIS and Eastern Europe. Growing the share of mining business is a strategic priority for us and we are pleased with recent developments. In terms of the Down the Hole business, net sales did not develop in line with expectations in the mining and quarrying market, and development work in the segment continues,” says CEO Tommi Lehtonen.

During the review period, the company’s working capital efficiency improved. Cash flow from operating activities was still at an unsatisfactory level and was EUR -0.9 million (-1.1). The company’s EBITDA profit was EUR 1.0 million (1.1). The Group’s equity ratio at the end of the review period was 46.9 % (49.9).

The uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic rapidly changed the company’s operating environment towards the end of the review period. As a result of the uncertainty related to demand, the company launched in March consultations on possible temporary layoff arrangements in Finland. Savings measures were also prepared and implemented in the company’s foreign units.

“The company’s strategic choice to focus only on consumables will be rewarded in these exceptional circumstances. The coronavirus situation is expected to have a limited impact on the company’s demand. At present, it appears that drilling operations at mining or construction sites will continue largely uninterrupted. The impact on Robit’s operations will depend on how long tighter restrictive measures, such as individual mine closures, continue and whether these spread to new countries that are important to us,” explains CEO Lehtonen.

On 24 March 2020, the company announced that it was renouncing its guidance for 2020. The uncertainty created by coronavirus for the development of the industry and the economy is adversely affecting normal forecasting of the business outlook. Updating the outlook and guidance will again be possible when the market situation provides a normal opportunity to do so.
