ROBIT UUDELLEENORGANISOI HALCON LIIKETOIMINTAA USA:SSA

Robitin tarkennetun Down the Hole (DTH) -strategian mukaisesti yhtiö on päättänyt keskittää
DTH-kruunujen valmistuksen Robitin Shermanin (USA) toimipisteestä yhtiön muihin tuotantoyksiköihin ja lopettaa Shermanin tuotannon. Tällä järjestelyllä lisätään yhtiön volyymiä ja tuottavuutta Australian ja UK:n yksiköissä.

Halcon liiketoiminta jatkuu Pohjois- ja Etelä-Amerikassa aktiivisena ja Halco pystyy jatkossakin palvelemaan jakelijoitaan ja suoria asiakkaitaan.  Uudelleenorganisoinnilla ei ole vaikutusta Robit-brändillä myytävien tuotteiden liiketoimintaan Amerikoissa.

Henkilöstövaikutukseltaan uudelleenjärjestely merkitsee neljän tuotantohenkilön vähennystä. Järjestelyllä ei ole vaikutusta Robitin vuodelle 2019 annettuun tulosohjeistukseen.

ROBIT RE-ORGANIZES HALCO BUSINESS IN USA

Robit has sharpened its Down the Hole (DTH) strategy. Based on this plan Robit has decided to centralize the manufacturing of DTH bits from Robit Sherman factory, USA to other manufacturing units of the company and the production in Sherman ends. This arrangement increases the volumes and productivity in the Australian and UK manufacturing plants.

Halco business in North and South-America continues active and Halco continues to be able to serve its distributors and direct customers. This re-organizing has no impact on Robit branded business nor products in Americas region.

 This re-organizing reduces four persons from the production of the Sherman unit. The arrangement has no impact on Robit’s guidance for the 2019.

ROBIT KEHITTÄÄ YHDESSÄ TEGS FINLANDIN KANSSA TEKNOLOGIAA KESTÄVÄÄN
ENERGIANTUOTANTOON –Tampereella porataan jopa 8 kilometrin syvyinen lämpökaivo

Robit Finland Oy on sopinut yhteistyöstä TEGS Finland Oy:n kanssa syvien kaivojen poraukseen
kehitettävästä teknologiasta. Yhteistyö keskittyy syvien kaivojen poraamiseen tarkoitettujen pora-
kruunujensuorituskyvyn parantamiseen. Tavoitteena ovat merkittävät kustannussäästöt. TEGS
Finland Oy on geotermisen tuotantolaitoksen rakentamista varten perustettu projektiyhtiö.

Tampereelle porattavan syvän kaivon tuottama maalämpö tulee korvaamaan fossiilisia polttoaineita n.
1000 pientalon lämmitystarpeen verran.  Yksi syvä kaivo vaatii myös huomattavasti vähemmän maan-
päällistä tilaa kuin perinteiset matalat maalämpökaivot. Syvään kaivoon voidaan varastoida lämpöä
jäähdytyskaudella, jolla voidaan parantaa syvän kaivon hyötysuhdetta lämmityskaudella.

Robit on jo aiemmin syksyllä 2018 tehnyt yhteistyössä Nocon Oy:n kanssa Mänttä-Vilppulan kaupunkiin
1,5 km syvän pilottikaivon. Kaivo valmistui joulukuussa 2018.

Työ- ja elinkeinoministeriö TEM on myöntänyt TEGS Finland Oy:lle yli 2 miljoonaa euroa geotermisen
energian tuotantolaitoksen rakentamiseen Tampereen Nekalaan. Geotermistä lämpöä, eli maalämpöä
voidaan hyödyntää sähkön tuotannossa ja lämmityksessä. Tampereelle porattava 7-8 kilometrin syvyinen
lämpökaivo, lämmittää kiertävän veden kaukolämpöverkkoon sopivaksi. Vuositasolla 29050 MWh lämpöä
tuottavaa tuotantolaitosta aletaan rakentamaan ensi vuoden alussa

ROBIT TO DEVELOP WITH TEGS FINLAND OY TECHNOLOGY FOR SUSTAINABLE ENERGY PRODUCTION
– energy well up to 8 kilometres deep to be drilled at Tampere Finland

Robit Finland Oy has agreed to cooperate with TEGS Finland Oy on technology developed for the drilling of deep
geothermal wells. Cooperation will focus on improving the performance of drill bits intended for deep well drilling.
The goal is significant cost savings.

The geothermal heat produced by the deep well up to 7-8 kilometres to be drilled at Tampere, Finland will replace
fossil fuels equivalent to the heating requirements of around 1,000 homes. One deep well will also require significantly
less space above ground than traditional shallow geothermal wells. Heat can be stored in the deep well during the
cooling season, which will improve the deep well’s efficiency ratio during the heating season.

Robit and Nocon Oy drilled earlier during the autumn 2018 up to 1.5 kilometers deep pilot well to Mänttä-Vilppula city.
The well was completed in December.2018

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment has awarded TEGS Finland a grant of over EUR 2 million for the
construction of a geothermal energy production plant at Nekala, Tampere Finland. Geothermal heat can be used in
electricity generation and heating. The 7-8 kilometres deep energy well to be drilled at Tampere will heat circulating
water for use in the district heating network. Construction of the production plant, which will generate 29050 MWh of
heat per year, will start at the beginning of next year.

ROBIT PLC LAUNCHES MEASURES TO RETURN TO PROFITABLE GROWTH

The objective of the Robit Plc’s Board of Directors, elected by an Extraordinary General Meeting held on
4th December 2018, is to prepare, together with the management, an efficiency programme and to launch
measures to return the company to a profitable growth.

The efficiency programme will focus on four areas:

• Developing the distributor network and the company’s own sales, and boosting sales
• Implementing a working capital efficiency programme, prepared by the company’s management,
  which is expected to improve the cash flow.  
• Improving the utilisation rate of the factory network’s capacity and using resources more effectively
• Committing personnel to the programme, ensuring the motivation and performance of the organisation

The company has implemented as planned the structural and savings measures initiated on 29 January
2018. The positive impact on earnings of these measures will be realised to the full during 2019. Savings on a
n annual level are estimated to be more than EUR 3 million.

The new automated factory which was opened in South Korea in February 2018 has improved the
company’s delivery capability to meet demand for shanks and rods of the Top Hammer product line.

Robit will report on the efficiency programme in more detail in connection with the company’s financial
statements release, to be published on 20 February 2019.

“During the last five years, Robit has changed significantly from being a Lempäälä export company to
become a global operator that has manufacturing operations on all continents. We have expanded our
offering from drill bits to a complete range of Top Hammer products as well as the market’s widest range of
DTH hammers.
2018 is the first year in the company’s history that the company’s net sales will not increase
by more than 10%. We have been unsuccessful in the takeover of the corporate acquisitions made in 2016,
because we have not succeeded in turning the acquired business operations to the desired level of growth.

ROBIT OYJ KÄYNNISTÄÄ TOIMENPITEET KANNATTAVAN KASVUN PALAUTTAMISEKSI

Robit Oyj:n 4.12.2018 ylimääräisen yhtiökokouksen valitseman hallituksen tavoitteena on laatia yhdessä
johdon kanssa tehostamisohjelma ja käynnistää korjaavat toimenpiteet yhtiön kannattavan kasvun
palauttamiseksi.

Tehostamisohjelmassa keskitytään neljään alueeseen:

• Jälleenmyyjäverkoston ja yhtiön oman myynnin kehittämiseen ja myynnin kasvuun
• Yhtiön johto on laatinut käyttöpääomaan tehostamisohjelman, jonka toimeenpanon odotetaan
  parantavan kassavirtaa.   
• Tavoitteena on myös tehdasverkoston kapasiteetin käyttöasteen parantaminen ja resurssien
  tehokkaampi käyttö
• Henkilöstö sitouttaminen ohjelmaan, varmistaen organisaation motivaatio ja suorituskyky 

Yhtiö on toteuttanut suunnitellusti 29.1.2018 aloitetut rakenne- ja säästötoimenpiteet, joiden tulosta
parantava vaikutus toteutuu täysimääräisenä vuoden 2019 aikana. Vuositason säästöjen on arvioitu olevan
yli 3 miljoonaa euroa.

Koreassa helmikuussa 2018 avattu uusi, automatisoitu tehdas on parantanut yhtiön toimituskykyä Top
Hammer -tuotelinjan kankien ja niskojen kasvavaan kysyntään.

Robit tulee kertomaan tehostamisohjelmasta tarkemmin yhtiön tulosjulkistuksen yhteydessä 20.2.2019.

Robit uudistaa brändiään strategiansa mukaisesti. ROBIT PLC NET SALES AT LEVEL OF COMPARATIVE PERIOD – INTEGRATION OF ACQUISITIONS AND EXCHANGE RATES DEPRESSED GROWTH AND PROFITABILITY 

Robit Plc net sales ended with one percent growth in the first half of the year, at EUR 43.1 million (42.6) million. However net sales grew some eight percent using comparable exchange rates, which is clearly faster than drilling consumables market growth.

Profitability during the review period did not reach the target level. Result was affected by lower net sales and items impacting comparability, which were due to the restructuring in the first half of 2018. Profitability was also depressed by expenses related to the start-up of the factory in Korea.

At the end of the review period the company’s personnel numbered 290 (325), of which 77 (73) percent were located outside Finland. The personnel reductions were due to cost saving actions carried out. 

As part of its growth strategy the company is rationalizing and developing its product and service offering. Robit is clarifying its brand portfolio and strengthening its most widely recognized brand Robit. The Halco business continues as a separate brand. Restructuring supports the implementation of the growth strategy together with distributors.

During the next few years company is aiming for organic and structural growth as well as improving its profitability.

ROBIT OYJ:N LIIKEVAIHTO VERTAILUKAUDEN TASOLLA – YRITYSOSTOJEN INTEGROINTI JA VALUUTTAKURSSIEN MUUTOKSET PAINOIVAT KASVUA JA KANNATTAVUUTTA

Robit Oyj:n liikevaihto päätyi prosentin kasvulla 43,1 miljoonaan euroon (42,6) ensimmäisellä vuosipuoliskolla. Liikevaihdon kasvu oli kuitenkin noin kahdeksan prosenttia vertailukelpoisin valuutoin, mikä on selvästi porauksen kulutusosien markkinoiden kasvuvauhtia nopeampaa.

Kannattavuus ei ollut tavoitellulla tasolla. Tulosta rasittivat suunniteltua alhaisemman liikevaihdon ohella vertailukelpoisuuteen vaikuttaneet erät, jotka johtuivat alkuvuonna 2018 tehdyistä uudelleenjärjestelyistä. Kannattavuutta rasittivat myös Korean tehtaan käynnistämiseen liittyvät toimenpiteet.

Yhtiön henkilöstömäärä oli katsauskauden päättyessä 290 (325), josta 77 (73) prosenttia oli Suomen ulkopuolella. Henkilöstövähennykset johtuivat suoritetuista säästötoimenpiteistä, jotka koskivat koko organisaatiota.

Yhtiön tuote- ja palvelutarjontaa rationalisoidaan ja kehitetään osana kasvustrategiaa. Robit selkeyttää brändivalikoimaa ja vahvistaa tunnetuinta brändiään, Robitia. Halco-liiketoiminta jatkaa omana brändinään. Toiminnan uudelleenjärjestelyt vahvistavat kasvustrategian toteuttamista yhdessä jakelijoiden kanssa.

Yhtiö tavoittelee lähivuosina orgaanista ja rakenteellista kasvua sekä kannattavuuden parantamista.

ROBIT PLC HAS COMPLETED COMPANY’S RENEWAL OF STRUCTURE AND OPERATING MODEL

Robit Plc has completed the company’s renewal of structure and operating model disclosed in a press release on 29 January 2018.

In order to enable growth as well as competitiveness and cost-efficiency, Robit Plc reported of upcoming austerity concerning the whole organization globally. Due to the renewal, the company reduces globally approximately over 60 positions during 2018. The annual savings are over 3 million euros.

The new organization structure is expected to bring company’s know-how and decision-making close to its customers’ business enabling faster and more effective service. As a part of the renewal of structure and operating model, the company focuses simultaneously on development of supply chain efficiency and flexibility.

With these development procedures and structural changes Robit Plc aims to:

• serve its customers and markets even better
• strengthen and focus sales according to customer needs
• support growth strategy by creating better and faster conditions for renewal, development and further growth

The company’s five market regions remain unchanged, however each focusing in the future on the overall development of the region’s sales, growth and strengthening the market share as well as development via distributors.

The company has set the following key targets transcending the economic cycle:

• to increase its net sales organically on average by a minimum of 15 per cent per annum (CAGR)
• to achieve an EBITA margin of above 13 per cent

Robit Oyj on saattanut päätökseen yhtiön 29.1.2018 lehdistötiedotteella tiedottamat rakenne- ja toimintamallimuutokset.

Kasvun mahdollistamiseksi sekä kilpailukyvyn ja kustannustehokkuuden turvaamiseksi Robit Oyj ilmoitti aloittavansa säästötoimenpiteet, jotka koskevat globaalisti koko organisaatiota. Rakennemuutosten seurauksena yhtiö vähentää vuoden 2018 aikana globaalisti yli 60 työpaikkaa. Vuositason säästöt ovat yli 3 miljoonaa euroa.

Uudella organisaatiomallilla yhtiö pyrkii viemään osaamisen ja päätöksenteon lähelle asiakkaiden liiketoimintaa tarjoten nopeamman ja tehokkaamman toteutuksen. Osana rakenne- ja toimintamallin uudistamista yhtiö panostaa samanaikaisesti toimitusketjun tehokkuuden ja joustavuuden kehittämiseen.

Rakenne- ja toimintamallin muutoksella yhtiö haluaa:

• palvella entistä paremmin asiakkaitaan ja markkinoitaan
• vahvistaa ja fokusoida myyntiä asiakastarpeiden mukaisesti
• tukea kasvustrategiaa luomalla entistä paremmat ja nopeammat edellytykset uudistumiselle, kehitykselle ja kasvulle
  

Yhtiön viisi markkina-aluetta säilyvät ennallaan keskittyen kuitenkin jatkossa kukin alueensa kokonaisvaltaisen myynnin, kasvun sekä markkinaosuuden vahvistamiseen ja kehittämiseen jakelijoiden kautta.

Robit Oyj jatkaa edelleen selkeänä kasvuyhtiönä. Yhtiö on asettanut seuraavat yli suhdannesyklin ulottuvat avaintavoitteet:

• kasvattaa liikevaihtoaan keskimäärin yli 15 prosenttia vuodessa orgaanisesti (CAGR)
• saavuttaa yli 13 prosentin EBITA-marginaalin
